Trump’s Title X Gag Rule Reversed by HHS: “Patients Deserve Accurate and Comprehensive Information About Their Health Options”

BAKER | On Monday, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a final rule reversing the Trump administration’s policy prohibiting healthcare providers who receive Title X funds from informing patients about the full range of reproductive healthcare options, including abortion. The new HHS rule also includes modifications to strengthen Title X and expand access to equitable, affordable, high-quality patient-centered health services.

“The end of the Title X gag rule is a major victory for patients, access to sexual and reproductive healthcare and health equity,” said Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Taliban Announces Additional Government Officials—All Male, and All Members of Their Old Guard

The 38 new members of the interim government of the Taliban were appointed to military and civilian positions. The leadership team still doesn’t include a single woman.
