BREAKING: North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson just referred to the LGBTQ community as “filth.”
Mark Robinson, one of Madison Cawthorn’s close political allies, was just caught on film making truly reprehensible comments, referring to the LGBTQ community as “filth.”
We cannot tolerate this type of bigotry from any elected official, and as WNC’s representative, Cawthorn should denounce his ally Robinson’s comments immediately.
Chip in $10 to my campaign right now to not only defeat Cawthorn, but to bring real leadership to NC-11 and move forward on the values of love, hope, and empathy.
As a gay woman and a minister -- who works every day to promote LGBTQ equality across the South -- this could not hit closer to home for me. LGBTQ people are equal, are beautiful, and deserve to be fully protected under the law. That’s the message that our community -- especially LGBTQ youth -- need to hear from elected officials.
Defeating this type of extremism and bigotry is a big part of why I’m running for Congress.
I’m running to deliver the kind of leadership that WNC needs and deserves. That means a politics where everyone is welcome, where we talk about love and hope, and where we move forward together.
It also means being a representative to all of your constituents and letting voters know exactly what you stand for. NC-11 voters deserve to know whether Cawthorn denounces or agrees with Robinson’s hateful remarks.
If you’re with us, will you donate $10 or more to help us fight back against hatred and discrimination, and instead spread the message of love, hope, and empathy?
Together, we will remove extremism from our community and forge a new path forward.
