Friend,
Under the Trump administration and Betsy DeVos's Department of Education, hundreds of thousands of public servants were left out to dry when it came to getting help on student debt. A federal program that was set up to help provide relief for government workers was terribly managed, with nearly all applicants being denied.
But this week, President Biden's administration changed that. They have loosened the requirements and made the program more accessible. More than 550,000 people could now stand to benefit.
Jennifer was among the members of Congress who raised the alarm two years ago when it was revealed how dysfunctional the program was. She demanded accountability from the Trump administration, and advocated in recent months for action to provide more government workers with debt relief.
The Biden administration's actions are a reminder that elections have consequences -- and those consequences can represent genuinely positive change for people.
Will you join Jennifer to show your support for this program? Add your name to thank the Biden administration for helping government workers with their student debt.
Thank you,
