It’s official, John. A challenger
just announced that he’s running against Jamaal Bowman for Congress in New
York's 16th Congressional District. And with candidate registration forms
filed with the Federal Elections Commission, the primary election in NY-16
is officially on.

This might be Jamaal’s first challenger, but it’s likely not his last. We
know that Jamaal is going to be attacked this election for his outspoken
support of Medicare for All, canceling student loan debt, and a Green New
Deal. NY-16 might be a Democratic district, but he is anything but “safe”.

[ [link removed] ]In order to help us prepare for the primary ahead, and to show the
power of the progressive movement backing Jamaal, we need to raise as much
as possible in these first few days. Will you split a $3

progressive movement stands with Jamaal? Jamaal’s campaign set a goal to

We need to take this seriously. Last cycle, the Squad faced primary
challengers backed by Republican donors, dark money, and corporate PAC
dollars. We came too close to losing outspoken voices in Congress, and
with more Justice Democrats in Congress, our progressive coalition is an
even bigger target.

Status quo Democrats and Republicans would love nothing more than for
Jamaal to stop speaking truth to power in Congress. But we can’t afford to
lose Jamaal Bowman to a primary challenge.

Jamaal fought special interest groups and establishment dollars, to defeat
a corporate incumbent, and represent the voices of working people in NY-16
in Congress. We did it once, and with your help — we can do it again.
