This legislation adds another $10 billion that will help keep local economies running, advance equity by providing competitive grants for public transit access to affordable housing, enhance mobility for low-income riders, tackle climate change, and meet the growing and evolving mobility demands for our communities. The newly proposed innovative partnership between the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Transit Administration to provide critically needed public transit access to affordable housing is a key step in addressing America’s housing crisis, and is an initiative found only in the reconciliation bill, not the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. It’s critical lawmakers hear from voters that public transportation must be a priority in both infrastructure and reconciliation bills, so please take this important action today.
