Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and periodic lockdowns in Mozambique, the Mozambique Initiative has been at work this summer and early fall. In the following stories, see the ways United Methodist Churches in Mozambique are impacting their communities with the help of your support!

Solar Well Completed at Corrane Refugee Center in Northern Mozambique
From June to August 2021, crews worked to construct a new solar well at the Corrane Refugee Center in the district of Meconta in the Nampula province. This well supports the efforts by the Mozambican government, the UMC in Mozambique and other organizations to provide safe water to those displaced by the destabilization in the neighboring Cabo Delgado province. The new well serves 20,229 people, of which 9,605 are children.

Health Ministries Update
Recently the Health Board Department of the UMC in Mozambique provided a report on its activities occurring from June to September 2021, including mobile clinic work. [link removed] Read more →

This year the Mozambique Initiative’s Giving Tuesday focus will do just that: We're supporting local churches that will provide sewing courses, and thus vocational skills, to women in their community. Then, encourage your small group, friends and family to give a little to make a big difference.
