*Food Sovereignty for All: Supporting Struggles that Transform Food Systems*
"Tuesday October 12, 12 PM Eastern"

and

*2021 Food Sovereignty Prize Ceremony*
"Saturday October 16, 6 PM Eastern"

Dear Friend,

As we approach World Food Day, or the International Day of Action for Peoples' Food Sovereignty, we are excited to share with you two events that we are proud to be part of. Both are opportunities to celebrate the global struggle for food sovereignty and to learn more about it directly from movement leaders on the front lines.

First, on October 12, the workshop "*Food Sovereignty for All: Supporting Struggles that Transform Food Systems*" [ [link removed] ] will feature food sovereignty leaders from across the world in dialogue with funders. As the world marks 25 years of the global struggle for food sovereignty, they will reflect on the challenges and victories to date, as well the ways to continue to support this struggle worldwide. This interactive workshop, organized by La Via Campesina and co-sponsored by Grassroots International and others, is part of the EDGE Funders Annual Conference, but is open to non-conference participants. Further details and registration are here [ [link removed] ].

Then, on October 16, the "*Food Sovereignty Prize 2021 Ceremony*" [ [link removed] ] will take place, honoring FENSUAGRO of Colombia and Eastern Woodlands Rematriation of the US, as well as recognizing La Via Campesina, the first recipient of the Food Sovereignty Prize, for its 25 years of struggle toward food sovereignty. This event is organized by the US Food Sovereignty Alliance, of which Grassroots International is a founding member. Further details and registration are here. [ [link removed] ]

Peasants, Indigenous Peoples and their allies have been waging a struggle for food sovereignty for over 25 years. These are perfect opportunities to learn more about the history, and victories, of movements around the world - which Grassroots International has accompanied every step of the way.

In solidarity,

Chung-Wha Hong
Executive Director

P.S. We must learn from the movements, but we also need to resource them too! Between now and October 22, *help us meet our $14,000 goal of **Sustaining the Struggle* [ [link removed] ]* for Food Sovereignty.*
