| Today, the Biden administration restored protections to Bears Ears, Grand Staircase Escalante, and Northeast Canyons and Seamounts National Monuments. |
| In the face of Trump’s unprecedented and illegal attack on public lands, 80,000 Earthjustice supporters submitted public comment or wrote to members of Congress, overwhelmingly demonstrating the unpopularity of the attack. This groundswell of support, combined with relentless legal work by Earthjustice and its partners, helped secure victory by putting National Monuments on the top of the Biden administration’s agenda. |
| These monuments are so much more than just beautiful landscapes. Because of this victory, sacred tribal cultural sites are protected from looting, additional people won’t be exposed to toxic uranium, the oil and gas industry’s land grab was defeated, and our leaders have gotten the message that we’re not going to let public lands be carved up for private interests. |
