Our nation’s economy is in peril once again thanks to Congress’ massive spending. House Democrats have spent trillions upon trillions of dollars this year. Now, the U.S. Treasury is saying that there isn’t enough money to pay the bills.Â
Â
As the federal government continues to grow, so does the national debt. The deficit has ballooned from $5.2 trillion to $28.4 trillion in one generation alone. While corrupt politicians are encroaching on our rights, they are also putting a price tag on it which is severely putting our economy (and our paychecks) in jeopardy.
Â
Senate Democrats used the reconciliation process on a debt limit increase bill (S.1301) which lowered the passing vote count to 50 instead of the usual 60. This is happening at the same time as the House is finding ways to pass a $3.5 trillion reconciliation package and a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. They aren’t sorry for their mistake of going over budget. There isn’t even a plan in place to cut frivolous spending or safeguard future spending. They are making a way to spend more money on ridiculous programs.
Â
Some of our Republican representatives could be influenced on this issue as well. Many have voted before to increase or suspend the debt limit. They need encouragement to hold the line.
Â
Call or email your Senators today to ask them to vote NO on S. 1301, the debt limit increase.
