One of the most powerful books there is on the evil, and corruption, and dishonesty of war was written by two men, one of whom has been in prison for almost exactly 40 years.

His name is Mumia Abu-Jamal, and his level of knowledge and understanding of the institution of war would be phenomenal even had he not acquired much of it behind bars.

The other, equally impressive, is Stephen Vittoria. The book is Murder Incorporated: America's Favorite Pastime. It includes a foreword by S. Brian Willson and an Afterword by David Swanson. The book is the heart of and the longest of a three-book series, but not dependent on reading the other two books. It's a 450-page whirlwind education in the history of both wars and wise and courageous resistance to wars.
