John,

Washington Conservation Voters was founded on the belief that who we elect matters and it matters at every level of government: from city council, to port commission, to the legislature.

It can be easy to overlook 2019 for the storm coming in 2020, but this November, races around the state will have big consequences for our environment. Local elected officials make critical decisions every day about climate change, stormwater pollution, and toxic clean-up.

Environmental champions like Ben Stuckart running for Spokane Mayor, Kristin Ang running for Tacoma Port Commission, and Satpal Sidhu running for Whatcom County Executive all will help determine how fast our communities transition to a clean energy future.

Just this past week in Whatcom County, out of state oil companies were dumping tens of thousands of dollars in races for anti-environmental candidates. Fossil fuel companies and polluters will do everything in their power to buy local elections, but we have one thing they don’t have: people power.

We need your help to fight back. Here are three ways you can help:

Use WCV’s endorsements to vote before November 5. [[link removed]]Make sure everyone in your household votes and remind 5 friends to get their ballot in! Sign up to volunteer and join us as we get out the vote this last two weeks before Election Day. [[link removed]]

We fight every single year for every single election because too much is at stake. Thank you for helping to get out the vote and thank you for standing with us.

Onward,

Shannon Murphy
