Hi John,
Joe Manchin wants to cut the Build Back Better bill because he doesn’t want to foster an “entitlement mentality.”
Seriously?
The man is a literal coal baron who makes $500K per year in dirty coal money and does no work (aside from doing the coal industry’s bidding) to earn that money. Talk about entitlement.
Manchin has also issued a demand: cut 1 of 3 family policies from the bill: an expanded child tax credit, paid family medical leave, or subsidies for child care. My response to that? How many mothers will have to go back to work the day after giving birth because of cutting 1 of these programs?
How many young families will put off having kids?
How many parents will miss out on their kids’ childhood because they’re always working?
It’s ridiculous that Congress can afford to fund boondoggles like the F-35 jet without question, but when it comes to the working class, suddenly we have to cut the budget.
I call BS. In the richest country on Earth, no one should be hungry, homeless, without healthcare, or in poverty. Cities across the world shouldn’t be flooding while teenagers and young adults dread their future.
The money is there. All of these problems are a policy choice. If you agree, please donate to send me to Congress, so I can fight for different policy choices for our country:
