John,

For nearly five years, it has been my honor to work with you in the Stand Up Republic community to help build a vibrant democracy movement in America. We’ve fought against difficult odds, made a principled stand for America, and ultimately won the day for truth and decency. Our work has been a testament to the fact that in America, we the people have the power to chart a new course for the future.

If we hope to renew our politics, we must put ourselves forward as the instruments of that change. That is precisely why I’ve decided to enter the fray once again as a Candidate for the U.S. Senate in Utah.

That decision also means I am transitioning from my role as Executive Director and Board Member at Stand Up Republic in order to focus on my campaign as appropriate.

While we begin the search for a new Executive Director, I’m pleased to announce that our COO, Miles Taylor, will be stepping up to act as Acting Executive Director. I’ve known Miles for more than a decade, and I know he’s a true patriot, dedicated to SUR’s mission and the protection of our democracy. I know that under his leadership Stand Up Republic will continue to thrive and grow. I couldn’t think of a better person to lead the organization into this next, most critical phase in the defense of our democratic republic.

While I am stepping back from SUR for this campaign, I am by no means leaving the fold. I will continue to work as a Senior Advisor for our non-political arm, Stand Up Republic Foundation, and will continue the critical work of uniting Americans around foundational ideals that support our system of self-government and freedom.

The work of protecting and improving America is never ending, and we all have our roles to play in different seasons. Thank you for being a part of that important work for these many years, and for your continued efforts with Stand Up Republic in the critical year ahead.
