Friends, This weekend, Faith and Blue is hosting events to build trust between police officers and their communities in Waite Park. An Atlanta-based organization, Faith and Blue hosts events across the country to bring faith leaders, activists, and officers together in an effort to build trust. Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud said that officers’ ability to do their jobs is based on community trust: “It has to be more than law enforcement. We need to model the multi-jurisdictional collaboration and we are seeing it work in so many different areas. We need that collaboration if we are going to be successful together. We can't be above looking the mirror and assessing where we can do better and where do we need to change. It needs to be a two-way street and I think we are doing that.” Thank you to Chief Bentrud, all the officers participating in this event, and to Faith and Blue for doing this important work that helps keep our communities safe. This National Faith and Blue weekend event will be held this weekend, October 8-11. To learn more about Faith and Blue, visit their website here: [link removed]. In gratitude, P.S.
