John,
The Oklahoma Democratic Party has a primary race for Governor.
Joy Hofmeister to flip parties, challenge Kevin Stitt for governor in 2022 [[link removed]]
This announcement is an indication that Oklahomans of good conscience are waking up to the extremism of the Republican Party.
As always, we're thrilled when our primary elections generate robust, energetic discussion around core issues that define what Democrats stand for. With a former legislator [[link removed]] - Connie Johnson - and a public education leader - Joy Hofmeister - running for the nomination, one thing is for sure: we're going to have a more serious discussion around real-life issues than the Republicans could dream of having.

Democratic nominee for Governor in 2022 [[link removed]]
Oklahoma Republicans continue to set the bar for extremist, do-nothing policy. 10,000 Oklahomans have died because of our neglectful, anti-science governor. Our public schools struggle to stay open five days a week because of continued and unnecessary budget cuts. And in spite of all that our tribal governments have done to help our communities, Stitt continues to burn bridges with our state's tribes. GOP leaders have, year after year, held space for racism, xenophobia, and continued attacks on our democracy.
Meanwhile, we Democrats are set to have an in-depth discussion on the issues that Oklahomans really care about. While Republicans argue over whether or not their elected leaders did enough to support Trump's coup attempt, we're talking about how best to fully fund public education, increase access to healthcare, and build the infrastructure that improves the daily life of Oklahomans.
If we're going to unseat Kevin Stitt next year, we need YOU to step up and help us [[link removed]] elect our upcoming slate of candidates.
Every dollar you give helps us make smart investments that are proven to result in the election outcomes we need. Please - give generously today
[[link removed]] and send the message that we will do what it takes to elect a Democratic governor in 2022.
