Hello John, Are you a communications professional, work closely with your communications or marketing department, or use communications strategies to advance your work? Do you want to know how to put together a great opinion piece or engage editorial boards? If yes, you don’t want to miss Opinion Pieces (Op-eds, LTES, ED Board Memos), coming up Wednesday, October 13 at 1PM-3PM! |
|
This special media training, offered through the Shift the Bay initiative and led by M+R Communications, will explore when you should write each kind of opinion piece, including what the elements and structure of a good op-ed are. We will discuss ways you can increase your chances of an op-ed being published, as well as where and how to submit it to media outlets. There will also be a chance for Q&A at the end! |

What is Shift the Bay? NPH leads the Shift the Bay initiative, a collaborative effort designed to deliver research driven, field-practiced strategies, tactics, and messages that will help our movement drive new narratives around affordable housing. Over the course of several years, the initiative has supported our affordable housing movement with new message guides and tools, new research, and the production of the Seize the Narrative Playbook, which offers concrete guidance on how to advance housing and racial justice, locally and regionally. |

This event is a part of our Shift the Bay Communications Series, a series of interactive trainings offered through the Shift the Bay initiative. These events are designed to grow our collective skill and strategy with media relations and social media, gaining more power to shift the narrative and conversation in the Bay Area toward affordable housing and homelessness solutions that are a win-win for all our neighbors and communities. Register for Opinion Pieces and view our other upcoming events! |
