My job as Secretary of State has not been an easy one this year – from running a statewide special recall election to fighting back against the conservative disinformation machines that continuously sow discord amongst our electorate. And I know that my fellow Secretaries of State haven’t had it easy either, as our very right to vote has been under attack all across the country.

I’m fortunate to oversee California’s transition to 100% mail-in ballot access, but next door in Arizona, local elected officials are undermining faith in our elections with spurious audits and attacks on voting rights.

Conservative conspiracy theorists are perpetuating Trump’s Big Lie all across the country, threatening our fundamental right to vote.
