Yesterday, a parent received this devastating text message from her child:

No parent should have to receive texts like this, John. No child should have to send them. But the truth is, millions of parents and kids in America have had an exchange like this.
Since the shooting at Columbine High School in 1999, there have been more than 260,000 school shootings in the United States. There have been seven school shootings in Texas just this year. And we know that school shootings account for just a tiny fraction of all gun violence.
Despite all this, there has been NO change in federal gun laws for decades. The filibuster has kept the Senate in the stranglehold of the gun lobby’s extreme, guns everywhere agenda.
Enough is enough. We can’t afford inaction any longer. We are fighting tirelessly to hold our lawmakers accountable and demand they take action to pass lifesaving laws and treat gun violence like the public health emergency that it is.
Donate today to fund our fight to end the filibuster and to honor victims and survivors of gun violence with action.
