Instead of joining us in supporting President Biden’s entire Build Back Better agenda that is wildly popular across America, Senator Joe Manchin is telling progressives they should “pick just one” of our priorities that working families want, need, and deserve — from an expanded child tax credit, paid leave, and child care to health care, pre-k, and affordable housing.
In other words, Senator Manchin is telling working families they deserve just one of the things they need to thrive.
We refuse to leave working people, families, and our communities behind. When voters handed Democrats the White House, the Senate, and the House, they did not do so on the condition that we’d have to choose between providing health care OR child care, paid leave OR housing, climate action OR education.
