National Estate Planning Awareness Week (Oct. 18-24) is this month, and it’s a good moment to create a plan for the people, communities and causes we love with this free estate planning resource.

Estate planning can feel like a lot to tackle, but everyone — not just those privileged enough to afford it — needs to have a plan to:

• Protect the family, friends and pets they care most about.
• Dictate important health care directives and safety decisions.
• Plan beneficiaries for their assets (including their IRA, 401(k) or assets outside of a will).
• Create a powerful legacy to fight for the communities and causes they care about.
