People For’s members know that when the Far Right mounts a political offense, our response must be greater. And in the 2020 elections – you delivered.
In addition to the thousands upon thousands of text messages, phone calls, donations, and doors knocked by People For members during the 2020 elections, you also helped prove an innovative – monumentally successful – get out the vote strategy: sending handwritten letters to underrepresented voters about the importance of their vote.
And it paid off in a BIG way.
After months of rigorous data analysis, our partners at Vote Forward determined that the Big Send letter writer program we were a part of netted more than 126,000 votes in key states across the country.
Given President Biden’s margin of victory in the three closest states (Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin) was roughly a mere 43,000 votes, it’s safe to say that this program – and your participation – made a big impact on the outcome of the election.

Now, we have the opportunity fort this tactic to have a big impact in another hugely important election, in the bellwether state of Virginia, that’s right around the corner.
Polling shows a razor thin margin between Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe and far-right, Trump-endorsed candidate Glenn Youngkin – so voter turnout is going to be CRUCIAL to ensuring victory in this election and we cannot take a single vote for granted.
Let’s make the difference this year in Virginia, just like you did in 2020.
