Democratic AGs are fighting back, and this latest decision shows just how strong our AGs are. Learn more:
Friend, I’m sure you heard the news:
Last night, a federal judge ordered Texas to temporarily suspend their extremist six-week abortion ban, one of the most restrictive reproductive rights bills we’ve seen in decades.
Democratic AGs filed a legal brief to fight alongside President Biden’s Department of Justice in this case. Indicted Texas Republican AG Ken Paxton was the chief defender of this extremist law. This decision is an important step in the right direction, and we’re proud of Dem AGs fighting for our rights, but there is so much more to do.
This isn’t the only lawsuit that Dem AGs have filed a brief in to protect reproductive rights, including access to a safe abortion. In the past month, they’ve filed at least THREE legal briefs to prevent anti-choice Republican legislatures from enacting these conservative laws.
And like Massachusetts Dem AG and DAGA Co-Chair, Maura Healey, said this weekend:
“We need to double down and fight like hell, on all fronts and in all ways... We will be in any court, every court, any time, anywhere.”
Dem AGs are fighting for our communities, including communities that are being targeted by extremist Republicans.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
