Hi John,

You may have seen the news that Maine’s redistricting process is complete, but I wanted you to hear directly from me about what the new congressional map means for our race here in Maine’s Second District. I’m also hoping you’ll chip in a few dollars today to help us reach our rapid response goal and keep this seat blue.

First of all, this map adds thousands of new Maine voters to our district. These folks come from the First District, so they’ve never seen my name on their ballot before. For our team, this means we need to expand our on-the-ground efforts to make sure we talk to each of these new voters and make sure they know the truth about all the good work we’ve been doing for Mainers in Congress before they start getting targeted with attack ads.

The next big thing is that Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election forecaster, came out with their very first rating of our district with the new maps -- and ME-02 is a “Toss-Up.” This was one of the closest races in the country in 2018, and even with a new congressional map, our race is expected to be close once again. We can’t leave anything up to chance.

My team set a rapid response goal to raise $15,000 so that we have the resources to welcome the thousands of new Maine voters to our district and make sure this toss-up race lands in our favor, but we’re not going to get there without your help.
