Friend,

September was a jam-packed month between a potential government shutdown and a stalemate over the infrastructure and reconciliation package. However, it’s important we don’t lose any momentum as we head into October since it’s time we turn these bills into laws.

I’m laser-focused on the reconciliation package because it contains the Clean Electricity plan — the most transformative piece of energy policy of our time — as well as other important investments in child care, health care, affordable housing, and more.

It’s time we pass the Clean Electricity plan and move quickly toward a clean energy future for the 21st century. Grid failures like the one in Texas last winter will only get worse if we fail to act as climate change intensifies.

Additionally, the Clean Electricity plan is our best shot at reducing the U.S.’s greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint while creating thousands of clean electricity jobs domestically.

But that’s not all.

After Texas Republicans and the conservative Supreme Court majority launched unprecedented attacks on abortion rights in September, I’m also more committed than ever to protect reproductive rights by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA).

As the only Senator who’s worked at Planned Parenthood, the passage of the WHPA is personal to me and it’s one of my top legislative priorities. With this critical bill’s passage in the House, it’s time for the Senate to bring this bill to the floor for a vote — Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans should not be allowed to hide behind the filibuster and escape accountability for how they vote.

It’s why I’ve been a vocal advocate for not just abolishing the filibuster and passing the Women’s Health Protection Act , but also expanding the Supreme Court so Trump and McConnell’s conservative majority can’t exercise veto power over progressive legislation.

Friend, I want to know what your top priorities are — can you take a minute (or two!) and fill out my October Priorities Survey? Your input is incredibly valuable to me since there are so many important votes coming up. [[link removed]]
