Friend --
The primary election is over and your PA PAC extends a warm thank
you to all of the volunteers who put out (and picked up!) yard signs
and who handed out the PA PAC green ballot at the polls during the
weeks of early voting and on Election Day. Thank you.
Thank
you to our donors, who enabled us to hire poll workers during early
voting and on election day. Your funds also helped pay for the green
ballot and mailing our slate to 15,000 voters across Durham.
And thanks to our membership, over 400 of whom attended a
five-hour-long endorsement meeting last month to debate and select the
candidates PA PAC supported in this election.
Congratulations to our slate of endorsed candidates, all of whom
will? appear on your ballot in the General Election. These candidates,
selected democratically following hours of debate by members of the
People's Alliance PAC are, Javiera Caballero for Mayor, Marion T.
Johnson for City Council Ward 1, Mark Anthony Middleton for City
Council Ward 2, and AJ Williams for City Council Ward 3.
Our candidates support the values of the People's Alliance
membership. They put those values into practice with concrete policy.
They have increased affordable housing stock, sought and received
funds to support justice-involved individuals as they return home to
Durham, taken action to stop the harm that comes of criminalizing
poverty, and implemented one of the most innovative participatory
budgeting processes in the nation. This slate has progressive values
and the policy expertise to keep Durham on the right track.
We call on you all to get out there to vote in the General
Election. Early
voting starts on October 14 and ends on October 30. Election Day
is November 2.
