Hi John -- We've got news to share!

In this Issue:

Training Network Launches in NC

The inaugural training of our new network in North Carolina was a huge success! Over three days, participants became trainers, gaining new skills to facilitate workshops and build the movement to raise NC's minimum wage to $15 an hour for ALL workers.

The training was co-facilitated by UFE’s Executive Director Jeannette Huezo and Popular Educators Eroc Arroyo-Montano and Riahl O’Malley. Our Training of Trainers uses UFE’s unique popular education methodology, developed over decades. After attending, participants are able to facilitate their own trainings using the lenses of race, gender, and economic inequality.

UFE Lands in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!

We are excited that UFE Popular Educator Riahl O’Malley is now living and working for UFE in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He will continue to work as part of UFE’s dynamic national Popular Education Team – along with Eroc Arroyo-Montano and Jeannette Huezo. We are celebrating UFE’s 25th Anniversary with an event in Minneapolis on Thursday, November 7th from 6pm-8pm at Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha (CTUL). Reserve your spot – and/or let your Minnesota friends know!

UFE is also looking forward to holding our Spring 2020 Training of Trainers in Minnesota – mark your calendar, and visit our website to learn more and apply. If you have any questions on the training or our popular education work please contact Riahl at [email protected].

Advanced Training of Trainers

This week, United for a Fair Economy's popular education team is at the Highlander Center in Tennessee facilitating an advanced workshop.

Last month in Boston, UFE celebrated 25 years of supporting the fight for economic justice. To mark the occasion, we've convened a unique Advanced Training of Trainers at the historic Highlander Center. This special training serves as an opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and discuss new ways to apply popular education, healing justice, and language justice in the struggle for a fair economy.

We Just Celebrated our 25th Anniversary!

More than 150 of our friends and supporters came together to share food, stories, music and community in honor of our 25th anniversary in September. Thanks to all who joined us in person or in spirit!

We wanted the event to reflect UFE’s core values – values like inclusion, respect, compassion, fairness, solidarity, pluralism, transparency, intersectionality, equity, and justice. As you view the photos and think about the event – the music, the discussions, the awards, the people in the room – we hope you’ll agree that we succeeded!
