This Saturday: Canvass for Housing For All!
Come canvass with Atlanta DSA this Saturday at 10 at Coan Park (1530 Woodbine Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30317).
Housing is a human right! Yet thanks to capitalism and neglect by our Mayor and City Council, over 3,000 Atlantans are unhoused. Meanwhile, gentrification pushes out residents, rents are rising, and the police carry out evictions and violent sweeps of unhoused communities!
As election season heats up, we're knocking doors and talking to residents about key issues facing Atlanta like Housing for All, Stopping the Sweeps and redirecting city funds away from policing, jails, and projects like Cop City and into public services like housing!
Meet at the Gazebo at Coan Park. We'll provide snacks and water, just remember to wear a mask and bring a friend! No experience needed.

DSA Stands in Solidarity with IATSE Workers
Earlier this week, IATSE Members in TV and Film Production Voted to Authorize the first nationwide industry strike in our 128-year history. 98.68% voted yes, and voter turnout among eligible members was nearly 90%. This means that a strike may begin in the new few weeks. DSA's Labor Committee is organizing members to support IATSE workers in this historic effort; sign up below to get involved with strike solidarity work!
"The members have spoken loud and clear," said International President Matthew Loeb. "This vote is about the quality of life as well as the health and safety of those who work in the film and television industry. Our people have basic human needs like time for meal breaks, adequate sleep, and a weekend. For those at the bottom of the pay scale, they deserve nothing less than a living wage."
