Hey John — did you catch this?
Last week, the House passed the Women’s Health Protection Act.
This bill codifies Roe v. Wade’s protection of abortion rights. It was passed in direct response to S.B. 8 in Texas, which bans abortions after six weeks — before most women even know that they’re pregnant.
We’re sure this won’t come as a surprise, John, but we have to let you know: not a single Republican member of the House voted to advance this bill.
The passage of this bill in the House of Representatives is a huge win for choice, and it was only possible because of our Democratic majority.
Speaker Pelosi has called S.B. 8 a “catastrophe to women in Texas, particularly women of color and women from low-income communities.” The House’s passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act is just one example of direct action by Democrats to deliver on Democratic values, including social and economic equity.
Will you make a contribution to our fight to protect the House so we can continue to make progress like the Women’s Health Protection Act?

Not only does this bill protect people seeking abortion care, it also provides protections for the professionals who provide this care. This bill is an important counter to the punitive provisions of S.B. 8, designed to punish health care professionals for simply doing their jobs.
Will you rush a contribution today so Democrats can continue to achieve this progress with our majority?
Thanks for your support,
