Even though Donald Trump has officially endorsed Burt Jones in the race for Lieutenant Governor, that hasn’t stopped Butch Miller from throwing his hat in with the radical far right.
Earlier today, Butch Miller went on a talk show armed with one of the most Trumpian dog-whistle statements I’ve seen in months.
Here’s what he said:
“We have attracted many people to the state of Georgia that don’t think like us. [...] If they don’t think like us, they need to assimilate into our values and our culture.”
And here’s what he meant:
“There’s no place in Georgia for people of color, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, or anyone who votes for the ‘wrong’ party.”
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be processed immediately. Miller’s statement just goes to show how far Trump’s influence has spread in the Georgia GOP. One year out from the 2022 election, we already have two candidates running for Lieutenant Governor who are parroting Trump’s racist, us vs. them rhetoric.
But that’s not who we are, xxxxxx. And that’s not the kind of leadership we deserve.
Thank you for standing with us.
