John,
Did you see the front page of today’s New York Times?
Take a look:
It shows the congressional map being pushed by the GOP. With this map, likely Republican districts will go from 13 to 23.
Because of changing demographics, more swing districts are flipping blue. Republicans are pushing back by gerrymandering the state even more to favor their candidates.
With this new map, Texas Republicans will have an insurmountable stranglehold on power for the next decade.
After the elimination of competitive districts, the Texas GOP will end up with 23 solid Republican districts to Democrats’ 12. In 2020 President Biden lost Texas by 5%. With a fair map, Republicans should have 2 or 3 more members than Democrats. This gerrymandered map gives them 12 more.
If we are going to protect voting rights, we cannot allow this map to go into effect. That’s why we have to ask. Can you chip in $25 to support our fight for voting rights?

For the record, Texas is not becoming more liberal. It is becoming more diverse. Instead of working to win the support of Texas voters, the GOP is rigging the system to give politicians safe seats for the next decade. This is an insult to our democracy. It’s up to us to organize and hold them accountable before it’s too late. Can you chip in to support our organizing program?
Thank you,
