Dear John,
As your Congressman, the health and safety of our region continues to be my top priority and I wanted to let you know that a booster shot is available for certain individuals who have received the Pfizer vaccine. The booster dose was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in September. Please keep reading for answers to commonly asked questions about booster shots.
Who is eligible for a booster shot?
The CDC says that COVID-19 Vaccine booster shots are available for some Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine recipients who completed their initial series at least 6 months ago. Eligible individuals include those who are:
- 65 years and older
- 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
- 18+ who live/work in high-risk settings
Where can I get a booster shot?
North Texans should visit vaccines.gov to find local vaccination sites and providers.
Are there booster shots for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines?
Currently, there is not an approved available booster shot for the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Where can I find more information?
To learn more about booster shots, visit the CDC’s page on booster shots and https://www.vaccines.gov/.
Visit vaccines.gov to find a COVID-19 vaccine location near you.
As your Congressman, I am committed to serving North Texans in need, especially if you have issues with a federal agency that need to be resolved.
Earlier this year, Robert from Garland applied to receive Medicare benefits through the Social Security Administration (SSA). Unfortunately, Robert had not heard back from SSA for several months regarding his application. Confused and frustrated, Robert turned to my office for help.
I immediately contacted the SSA to inquire about Robert’s application. The SSA was able to quickly process Robert’s application to be reviewed by the payment center. Within just a few weeks, Robert’s application was approved and he is now receiving the benefits and coverage he needs.
My team and I are always here to answer your questions and help with any issues you have with federal agencies. If you would like to contact me, please send an email, or call my office at 972-972-7949.
It is an honor to serve North Texas, where I was born and raised.
Sincerely,
Colin Allred Member of Congress
