Jack xxxxxx,
Republican lawmakers in Texas have drawn new political maps to try to preserve their political dynasty. But the maps don’t represent the state’s population.
In Texas, 39,8% of the population is white, 39.3% is Hispanic, 11.8% is Black, and 5.4% is Asian. But in the new maps proposed by the Texas Senate, 64.5% of the districts would have white majorities, 22.6% would have Hispanic majorities, and 3.2% would have Black majorities.
Put simply, the proposed maps disenfranchise Texans of color. It’s a racist, anti-democratic, anti-American voter suppression tactic. And we won’t stand for it.
Boot Texas Republicans is committed to defeating the Republicans who created these gerrymandered maps. But we need your help. Can you donate $25 or more to help us fight back and hold them accountable?
The GOP holds all of Texas’s statewide offices, along with majorities in the state’s congressional delegation, the Texas House and Senate, and the State Board of Education.
Republican control of Texas has sent our state into a tailspin -- their ham-handed response to the pandemic unnecessarily killed thousands of Texans, and the new statewide abortion ban is an embarrassment to our state.
We need to mount a response -- but we need your help to do it effectively. Please donate what you can to help us fight back.We need to mount a response -- but we need your help to do it effectively. Please donate what you can to help us fight back.
Thank you for your support,
