Folks,

It’s not a coincidence — Republican-controlled legislatures across the country are proposing and enacting new voter suppression laws after record-breaking turnout in 2020. The Brennan Center for Justice reports that so far this year, 19 states have enacted 33 laws that will make it harder for Americans to vote.

As Donald Trump and the Republican politicians who emulate him drive us further apart, the GOP’s path to victory is narrowing. And shamefully, many of these bills disproportionately impact people of color, making it harder for Black and brown communities to exercise their sacred right to vote.

Let me be clear: When more people vote and make their voices heard, we are stronger as a democracy.

That’s why yesterday, my Democratic Senate colleagues and I reintroduced the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and as a proud cosponsor of this crucial piece of legislation, I am calling for the Senate to bring this bill to the floor for a vote and send it to President Biden’s desk.

Add your name next to mine, and sign my petition urging the Senate to take the next step and pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act so we can stop Republicans from passing this unprecedented wave of voting restrictions.

I am committed to protecting and expanding voting rights across the country, and I will not stop until we get this to President Biden's desk. Thank you for your support.

Con gratitud,
