Critical state and local races will be taking place in the coming months ? and who wins will have big implications for climate action in our communities and across the country.

We must do everything possible to elect state and local leaders who understand that urgent action is necessary to stop the climate crisis ? and that means doing all we can to encourage voters who care about climate change to show up at the polls.

That's why we're partnering with Postcards for Climate, an organization that allows activists like you to send handwritten postcards to voters reminding them to vote. But we need you to help us reach more voters across the country. We've set a goal of 100 LCV members signing up to send postcards to voters in key state and local races. Research over the last few election cycles has shown that handwritten letters and postcards are a powerful tool ? they're proven to increase voter turnout. This will have an outsized impact in state and local races, which too often fly under the radar and suffer from low participation. But we know that from climate-resilient infrastructure to water quality to electric buses (and so much more!), local and state governments have a major impact on both how we respond to climate impacts and fight the climate crisis.

When you sign up, Postcards For Climate will mail you free postcards, instructions with a suggested script and talking points, and a list of climate voters who might need an extra reminder to vote in an upcoming local election. All you have to do is write the postcards, provide postage, and mail them on the assigned mailing date.

We know who we need to reach to win these races and elect climate champions to office ? all we need is your help. If we meet our 100 member goal, it'll provide a huge boost to the campaign ? and could turn the tide in some critical state and local races coming up soon.
