We’ve got until the end of this month to pass the reconciliation bill and win major improvements for the people

Indivisibles,

Last week, progressives in the House held fast on their recovery strategy, which now means we’ve got until the end of this month to pass the reconciliation bill and win major improvements for the people.

What’s at stake is a set of policies that will expand health care coverage and cheaper access for millions of people, build pathways to citizenship and include immigrants in recovery provisions, invest in clean energy and climate action, and meet needs like child care, paid leave, and affordable housing. Winning these policies will tangibly improve lives, and that’s why it’s so crucial that we keep fighting through the month until the recovery package passes.

Our strategy hasn’t changed:

  1. Keeping the backs of the progressive bloc to hold strong and demand that the Senate pass the reconciliation bill so the House can pass both reconciliation and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework together.
  2. Holding conservative Democrats accountable for their opposition to these widely popular measures.
  3. Working directly with members who sit on relevant committees to ensure all our top priorities stay in the final package.

More time to engage in this fight means more work to be done -- keeping our call lines up to date and active so constituents can contact their representatives, supporting local groups’ events and activism, maintaining our policy resources, running ads, and more. We need your help to do it: click here to donate $10 to fund our work on recovery and support all the other progressive advocacy we’re doing.

Progressives outlined this strategy for winning a robust, inclusive recovery package months ago -- and all along, we’ve continued to see the evidence stack up that our strategy works when we all work together and stay strong. It’s our job to keep everyone on board, using all the tactics we have at our disposal. Thanks for getting involved, no matter how you’re engaging in this fight.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
