Good afternoon friend,

With less than three weeks to go until the Second Reading of Baroness Meacher’s Assisted Dying Bill in the House of Lords, it’s time to brief parliamentarians about the details of the Bill and make sure they’re prepared to engage with it in the coming weeks and months.

At this timely parliamentary meeting, we’ll also be presenting brand new research to Parliamentarians on the awful effects of the blanket prohibition on assisted dying.

We’ve put together a panel of parliamentary heavyweights, including Baroness Molly Meacher and former leader of the Scottish Conservatives Baroness Ruth Davidson, along with people who will share their personal experiences of our current laws.

Even though the Second Reading debate will only be open to Members of the House of Lords (Peers), it’s important that MPs also know about the Bill and know about the latest research on assisted dying. It will not be long before MPs are asked again to engage with a bill on assisted dying and we need to make sure they are aware of these huge developments.

We’re reaching out to Peers to make sure as many as possible attend - but we rely on you to make sure that your MP knows about this important event. Please drop your MP a quick email now to invite them.

If you’re around on Tuesday 19th October at 4pm, you’re more than welcome to join us on Youtube to follow the discussion. We hope to broadcast our meeting as usual at www.youtube.com/dignityindying.

We’re pulling together with your support, full steam ahead in support of Baroness Meacher’s Bill - everything is coming together ahead of the big day!

Keep up the great work and thanks for emailing your MP today.

All the best,

Sadie Kempner
