This past weekend the Party wrapped up its annual Convention at the Rydges Latimer Christchurch. Almost 200 delegates from across the country attended the event, and hundreds more joining us for the Leader’s Address on Sunday afternoon.

Remits were passed that would help improve all facets of our lives. A proposal calling for the development of a waste to energy plant would help our environment, and a remit allowing for carbon capture technology would help mitigate climate change.

Delegates unanimously voted in favour of the remit to curb land speculation, and to adequately fund Pharmac to allow greater access to the latest medicines.

These policy ideas were put forward with the sole intention of improving the lives of New Zealanders, and is a testament of our Party’s core ethos to put New Zealand and its people first.

During our Convention 2019, we sought to organize ourselves to be ready for next year’s election. Seeing the passion and drive our membership had, and by electing a talented new Party President – Kristen Campbell-Smith – backed by a highly-capable Board of Directors, we have no doubt that we are indeed ready for the upcoming challenge.
