When We All Vote
Hey John,
I wanted to check in and make sure you heard about what’s happening in the Senate today -- and how it will affect our ongoing work to fight for our freedom to vote.
Today at 2 PM ET, The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing, “Protecting a Precious, Almost Sacred Right: The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.”
So what does this mean? How will today’s hearing impact access to the ballot box going forward? Our team at When We All Vote is here to break it down and explain how YOU can play a role in protecting our freedom to vote for generations to come.
First and foremost: We need to get loud! That means emailing your senators right now and urging them to support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act: ⬇️

👉 What happens when a bill goes through a Senate Judiciary hearing?
During a Senate committee hearing, senators will review, research, and revise the bill before voting on whether to send it to the Senate floor.
👉 How would the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act protect my freedom to vote?
The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act -- named in honor of the late civil rights leader and leading voting rights activist John Lewis -- would restore the full protections of the original Voting Rights Act of 1965. By establishing a targeted, nationwide process for reviewing voting changes, the bill would ensure equal and unimpeded access to the ballot box for every American voter.
👉 How can my voice push my senators to take action?
Every senator and their office are keeping track of how many voters reach out to their office! Every single call, tweet, or email YOU send will influence the way that your senators review, research, and make changes to the bill.
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]As we are about to head into a critical election year, the need for a comprehensive bill like the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act has never been more clear.
The folks we elected to office are listening to us, which is why we need to speak out even louder. Our right to vote -- and our democracy as we know it -- is at stake .
Thank you always for your support,
Laura
