Child Defender,
I am the Rev. Cherisna Jean-Marie, and I serve as the new Director of Leadership Development and Organizing at CDF. I am excited to join an organization with a commitment to child well-being and am energized by this year's National Observance of Children's Sabbaths® theme, "Where Does it Hurt?": Listening to Heal Our Children.
We're less than two weeks away from our 30th annual Children's Sabbaths, and places of worship across the country are preparing to engage in prayers, education, and action in pursuit of a future in which our country's most marginalized children flourish.
Today, I want to invite you to join us for our own very special worship. On Sunday, October 17, the people and leaders of New York City's historic Riverside Church will welcome CDF's President and CEO, the Reverend Dr. Starsky Wilson, as their morning preacher.
