Folks -- Let's talk about some of the governors who will be signing maps into law in key states:
One word: YIKES. These three Republicans have all signed onerous voter suppression bills that disproportionately impact communities of color. They've all rejected mask requirements in their states. Under Abbott, Texas enacted the most restrictive anti-abortion law in the country, and DeSantis has said he wants Florida to be next.
One thing is clear: With their records, we can't trust these governors to fight for fair maps. That means we have to do the fighting before the maps get to their desks! (Chip in to help us do it >>)
Here's how:
- By working on the ground in critical swing states
- By mobilizing grassroots activists to demand fair maps
- By holding map manipulators accountable
- By supporting plaintiffs in lawsuits where applicable
