The Build Back Better Agenda, currently being negotiated in Congress, would create the nation’s first-ever paid family and medical leave program; make affordable, high-quality childcare and pre-kindergarten available for children and families; and raise wages for childcare workers.
For too long, American families—women in particular—have been forced to balance work and caregiving needs. We now have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to boost the economic well-being of women and children and take steps toward a more inclusive economy, reducing racial and gender inequities.

Black Girl Freedom Fund Puts Teens in the Driver Seat [[link removed]]
BY AVRIL SILVA | Nearly half of Black women report anxiety when walking alone at night, according to a poll from the Gallup Center for Black Voices. These safety issues plague communities where many Black girls live. Unlike most young people, however, Tyler Lattimer was in a position to do something about it.
Along with six other girls and gender-expansive youth, Lattimer—a 16-year-old from the Bronx, New York—was a part of The Black Girl Freedom Fund’s youth advisory board that helped to allocate funds and grants for organizations led by and in service of Black women and youth in communities nationwide.
