Hello John,

Today is a big day.

I am very happy to share the launch of the Forward Party ([link removed]) - it's a popular movement to reform our politics, reduce polarization and change the incentives of our representatives so that they respond to the general population instead of the most partisan among us.

We can tell that our country is disintegrating into political strife and violence. And we want to change the dynamic and provide a positive, unifying force in American life.

It is a lofty vision, but it's achievable. I'm optimistic because I know so many people sense the need. Everyone could use some uplift and real solutions. Our first projects will be supporting aligned candidates in local races and pushing ballot initiatives for open primaries and ranked choice voting in various states. One of the best things about my presidential campaign was how it brought awesome people together. Let's do it again. :)

Also, today is the day my new book "Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy ([link removed]) " arrives in bookstores! It lays out the case as to why we need a new approach to politics. The first section includes my experiences on the presidential trail and with the media. The middle section outlines various institutional problems including the perverse incentives in our politics. The final section lays out solutions. It was through writing the book that I arrived at the need for the Forward Party.

I'm proud of the book. I hope you decide to pick up a copy. Many of you were a part of the story. But I'm even prouder of the fact that people believe in me and my ideas enough to the point where we can make them a reality. Thank you.

I'm doing a book tour ([link removed]) to get the ideas out - this week in Washington D.C., Boston, Philadelphia and then to Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, San Francisco, Irvine and Des Moines.
