The Women's Foundation of Southern Arizona is expanding their scope and will now be called the Women's Foundation for the State of Arizona (WFSA)! WFSA CEO Amalia Luxardo will discuss the expansion in a brief conversation on October 6 at 12:00pm PST.
The Iowa Women's Foundation is having their annual luncheon on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Organizations or individuals are welcome to join virtually via the live stream. Chris Grumm, former WFN President/CEO, is the keynote speaker. Learn more and register here.

Women's Fund of Greater Milwaukee is hosting their annual luncheon, "Women’s Fund Presents…Disruptors, Changing the Power Dynamics." Johnson Controls as Speaker Sponsor, brings Abby Phillip, senior political correspondent and anchor of Inside Politics Sunday on CNN, to talk about her journey, share stories from the road traveling with politicians, and relate her personal insights about how gender and race impact women.

The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy invites everyone to an important conversation, Centering Black Power for Migrant and Racial Justice. Last week, we collectively and viscerally witnessed the cruelty and violence that black migrants have been experiencing at the U.S.- Mexico border and across the region for decades. In this crucial moment, we must center black migrant voices and power for migrant and racial justice.

The Council on Foundation’s Career Pathways program has launched their 2022 cohort applications for both the fall and spring cohorts. Career Pathways is design for mid-career professional committed to strengthening their practice and building connections within the sector. Participants in this highly selective program represent a wide range of foundations, grantmaking institutions, and philanthropic organizations.

Applications are due by November 1, 2021. They will also be hosting an information session on Wednesday October 6th at 4pm EST. To register, click here.

Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equity (PRE) released their latest report, Mismatched: Philanthropy’s Response to the Call for Racial Justice, the most comprehensive assessment of racial equity and racial justice funding to date, providing a detailed analysis of funding from 2015–2018 and a preliminary analysis for 2020. The report examines trends, contradictions, and divergences in funding for both racial equity and racial justice work.

PRE will also be hosting a webinar on October 14th at 12:45-2 pm EST on the report.

WAM Theatre is live-streaming their performance of Kamloopa: An Indigenous Matriarch Story. This high energy comedy follows two urban Indigenous sisters and their encounter with a lawless trickster, as they explore what it means to honor who they are and where they come from. Follow their journey in this captivating, contemporary new play, as the courageous sisters turn to the ancestors for help to reclaim their power.

The United Nations LGBTI Core Group held a high-level discussion during the high-level segment of the 76th session of the General Assembly to address the need to end the criminalization of same sex relations and trans identities in order to achieve the 2030 Agenda. W.K. Kellogg Foundation has released a new set of resources, The Promise of Farm to Early Care and Education, based on the learnings from WKKF’s five-year, five-state investment in farm to early care and education. Farm to early care and education is a promising community-based solution to ensure that every child in America has access to healthy, culturally relevant foods and is meeting nutrient-driven developmental milestones.
