INVITATION TO OCTOBER 29 CLEAN ENERGY LOBBY DAY IN SPRINGFIELD - REGISTRATION CLOSES TOMORROW, OCTOBER 25!

This year, 350 Chicago and many other organizations across Illinois have been working to promote the Clean Energy Jobs Act (HB3624/SB2132). During the summer, 350 Chicago volunteers collected petition signatures in support of CEJA. This important piece of legislation, if passed, will decarbonize the state’s power sector by 2030, achieve 100 percent renewable energy by 2050, and create thousands of good-paying jobs, including in minority and disadvantaged communities. We invite you to join activists from every part of Illinois to promote CEJA at a special Veto Session Clean Energy Lobby Day on Tuesday, October 29. Participants will speak with their legislators about climate change, jobs and economic opportunities, and an equitable and just transition to clean energy. Those new to lobbying are welcome and will be trained. Buses will be leaving from Chicago and many other locations. Registration closes tomorrow, October 25, so please sign up now!

Please call Governor Pritzker at 855-980-5638 and ask him to do everything he can to ensure CEJA passes.

Please also call your legislators’ offices to ask them to sponsor CEJA.

-State your name and say that you live in the district.

-If the legislator is already a co-sponsor of the Clean Energy Jobs Act (SB2132/HB3624), say thank you for being a co-sponsor.

-If the legislator is not yet a co-sponsor, ask him or her to become a co-sponsor of the Clean Energy Jobs Act (SB2132/HB3624).

-If you want you can also say why you personally care about this issue and leave your phone or email for the legislator to send you a reply.

SEND A PHOTO PETITION

Take a picture of yourself with a sign saying "Pass the Clean Energy Jobs Act Because _____" (you get to choose what to write in the blank). Share it on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram. Use the hash tags #CleanEnergyJobsAct #CEJA and #twill. Tag the governor and your state legislators!
