Friend,
If you’re at all like me, time might feel different the past couple of years than it used to. Indeed, when I say it’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since we launched Strong Future Maryland, I really mean it. Our team started this organization in the middle of a pandemic with a mission to say goodbye to the status quo, and usher in an era of advancing bold, progressive policy changes—the types of changes that address systemic inequality and promote a sustainable, just, and prosperous economic future for all Marylanders. On our first birthday, I am so appreciative of your partnership as supporters, donors, advisors, and advocates for groundbreaking change in a state we all love, and that should be a leader among states.
We have convened community conversations and one-on-ones with hundreds of advocates, community leaders, and organizations across the state to strategize on building collective power and collaboratively envision what Maryland will look like when everyone has access to the same opportunities. Through these networks, we were able to lift up your stories with decision-makers and in the media, and play an active role in the passage of over two dozen new laws last session on issues like investments in education and education equity, police reform, worker protections, and the environment. We’ve also donated over $25,000 to organizations in our state that are working to promote climate action, build an equitable economy, provide commissary items to incarcerated individuals, and support youth experiencing homelessness.
And there’s much more to come! As we are deep in the planning process with big plans for the years ahead, I am asking for your support. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to Strong Future Maryland today. Whether it’s $5 or $500, every dollar is valued, and every dollar powers our work! Chip in >>> ([link removed])

Your support will help us continue to build power, promote progressive policy solutions, provide expert campaign support to our partners who seek it, and lift up the voices of underrepresented communities with decision-makers.
From me and the entire SFM team to you, thank you for a great first year!
Alice Wilkerson, Executive Director
