www.inequalitymedia.org [www.inequalitymedia.org]Dear John,
You’ve probably been hearing about Democrats’ ongoing negotiations for their Build Back Better reconciliation bill. The media is framing it as a “war” between so-called moderates and progressives, claiming Joe Biden’s agenda hangs by a thread, and covering it as nothing more than a political game.
Lost in all that coverage is any substantive discussion of what policies are actually in the bill — and how those policies will help you.
One Build Back Better policy, for instance, is estimated to cut child poverty in half.
Our latest video explains how the expanded Child Tax Credit works, and why Congress must make it permanent. [[link removed]]

For decades, almost all economic gains have gone to the top, leaving working families behind. This historic expansion of the Child Tax Credit is a crucial step towards righting this wrong.
Poverty is a policy choice.
In the richest country in the world, it is absolutely inexcusable that millions of our children are living in poverty.
Congress must make the Child Tax Credit permanent.
Thanks for watching,
Robert Reich
