Missouri Net News [link removed] BSA Chartering Development
The Boy Scouts of America and the United Methodist General Council on Finance and Administration have released a new joint statement regarding chartering agreements. The Office of Finance and Administrative Ministries of the Missouri Annual Conference and the Conference Chancellor, Jordan Ault, do not believe the new statement should change the approach taken by church leaders. If your local church and troop have become the process of ending the chartering agreement or shifting it to another organization in your community, you should continue with that process. If, on the other hand, the pastor and church leaders believe that ending the charter will cause too much conflict within the church or too much hardship for the local church and community, they affirm decisions to extend only through 2022. Please read the full statement from the Missouri Conference office of Finance and Administrative Ministries at [link removed] [link removed].
NextGen College-Age Ministry Meet-and-Greet
Pastors, volunteers and youth leaders who work with high school students are invited to Columbia for a meet-and-greet with the leaders of Missouri Conference college-age ministries. From 12-2 p.m. on November 11, join us for lunch and networking as we hear about the amazing work these ministries are doing with young adults across the state. Virtual Disaster Response Service Opportunity
Crisis Cleanup is providing a call hotline for Hurricane Ida survivors. There is a shortage of volunteers to answer and return calls between October 6 and 11, and Crisis Cleanup needs your support to reinforce their phone volunteers. Volunteers work remotely and interface with survivors seeking assistance through the Crisis Cleanup. This is a great opportunity for those who want to make an impact but are not able to work on-site in Louisiana. If interested, please fill out this form, and someone will follow up with you to get you scheduled [link removed] [link removed]
