In the Senate, we took a major step forward in protecting the lives of our precious children from the womb through their first moments on earth.

I am dedicated to protecting the lives of babies born after failed abortions.

That's why I sponsored – and the Senate passed – the Born Alive Abortion Survivor Act.

This law would demand equal medical attention and care for all newborns, regardless of the circumstances of their birth.

While it sickens and saddens me that any precious newborn would be denied medical care, this law will give them the protection they need and deserve.
