[2]National Nurses United
We have a $3.5 trillion budget bill – known as the Build Back Better Act –
which would not only expand Medicare and lower drug prices, but also
deliver universal pre-k for 3 & 4 year-olds, paid family and medical
leave, and much more.
As a union representing primarily working women, we know that these are
measures that would be particularly life changing for tens of millions of
women workers and their families.
President Biden, Congressional leadership, the progressive caucus, and
nurses across the country are all aligned in the urgent need to pass this
bill and deliver on the priorities that voters elected Democrats to fight
for — not the bare minimum.
But just two conservative Democratic senators are trying to water down the
bill at the eleventh hour and strip out major priorities – including
Medicare expansion and improvements.
We know what passing this bill would mean for women, working families, and
our communities. It is imperative that we invest in health care and not
leave anyone behind in this bill.

If you’re not on Twitter, that’s okay. [ [link removed] ]You can call their offices and
share your thoughts directly.
By improving and expanding Medicare, we can immediately improve the lives
of millions – finally giving our seniors dental, vision, and hearing care
and lowering the cost of prescription drugs. We can also finally begin to
rein in private health care corporations that profit off our illness and
suffering.
And these Medicare improvements are just one example of many
transformational policies in the Build Back Better Act.
[ [link removed] ]We must rise up together as a movement and demand more for working
families. If you agree that we must pass this $3.5 trillion spending bill,
please send a message on Twitter now to Senators Manchin and Sinema.
Thank you for speaking out. We’ll keep you informed about other ways you
can support in this critical moment.
In solidarity,
