I’m honored to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other Brand New Congress (BNC) endorsees like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, and Paula Jean Swearengin. BNC called me “the best Senator money can’t buy” due to our campaign pledge to refuse corporate PAC and corporate lobbyist money.
No one can be a good representative if they are bought and paid for by corporations, and the only interests I will represent in Washington D.C. are the interests of the people.
I’ve spent years advocating for the most vulnerable in our society. I’ve seen firsthand the consequences of problems like income inequality and the impact of our despicable for-profit healthcare system. I see Iowans suffering from the climate crisis and a continued lack of action that negatively impacts our farmers. Our rural communities are being left behind, hometown businesses are closing their doors, while big agriculture, big pharma, and other corporate interests have never been wealthier.
It’s time for those of us who actually know the challenges everyday people face to take the reigns. We need a government that actually functions for us and is run by us.
